spa bathroomProject: Combine two cramped bathrooms into a luxe retreat

Before
: Leslie lived in her Central Park West apartment for over a decade before she decided to renovate. Her husband had purchased the home in the 1980s and it became a great investment over the years. The bathrooms, however, needed work. Both the master and the neighboring powder room were stuck in the aforementioned decade thanks to the dark green, white-veined and mirrored tiles, and a peeling, dilapidated vanity. In their place, Leslie wanted a spa-like, serene bathroom she could escape to at the end of a long workday.

On one side, minimalist wall-mounted faucets and a floating vanity set a modern tone. A medicine cabinet with the same lacquer finish as the vanity offers floor-to-ceiling storage.

The wet-room, with a large shower and inset tub, features large-format beige tile and brushed nickel finishes. The glass-enclosed wet-space can serve as a steam room, too. “I wanted the space to feel like a spa, and it does,” Leslie shared.

Bonus: The wet room had space for two showerheads, two sets of body sprays, and two overhead rain shower heads, so now “my husband and I don’t have to negotiate who showers when every morning,” Leslie said.

Style finds: Tub, sinks, cabinetry, and mirrors: Duravit. Hardware: Grohe. Toilet: Kohler. Tile: Nemo Tile.
