Site visit with South Fork Tile
Each week we visit a member of Sweeten network to check out what they are working on. This week we’re in Bed Stuy Brooklyn with South Fork Tile. The owner (Jean!) of this wood-frame house was looking to finish her kitchen by adding floor to ceiling subway tiles. She chose a medium grey grout and bright white tile to compliment the countertops and flooring. The project was completed in a day and a half by South Fork Tile owner Gennadiy Kaliberda. After years of practice and hundreds of kitchens this was a pretty easy project for him, so this left lots of time to hear about his tiling adventures across the country. Sweeten brings homeowners an exceptional renovation experience by personally matching trusted general contractors to your project, while offering expert guidance and support—at no cost to you. Renovate to live, Sweeten to thrive!
The box that the tiles came in was torn up and the pieces used as spacers.
Here the tile is almost completely adhered to the wall…next is the grout.

Blue tape and some kind of glue seem to be ingredients in every construction project!
This outlet required a bit of finessing.
Here’s the kitchen after the tiling was complete.
