Falling apart

Shower Plumbing was updated 10 years ago but finishes haven't held up and we want to move the tub and toilet
It's an old loft building with idiosyncratic construction!

Scope of work

Gut renovation of Bathroom - replace subfloor and shower walls, relocate toilet, replace toilet and tub, turn tub 90 degrees, Install new vanity, install ceiling lights and fan, install new storage cabinet, install new wall and floor tile

We had a great experience working with this firm. We had paperwork delays getting started and they were able to roll along with us until we were able to begin construction. ADA codes prevented us from moving our fixtures so we ended up taking out the tub and replacing with a shower in the same footprint, adding a new vanity, and retiling the walls and floor. Aleks helped us pick stone and a glass shower enclosure and make other decisions about where to start and stop tile, and finishing edges. The crew showed up promptly every day and explained the scope of the day's work and we addressed most questions that came up over e-mail. Aleks has good design ideas and it was very helpful to discuss what could work on a practical level in terms of layout, use of space and storage.

we mostly had delays, and they rolled with them. They were also extra accommodating to my downstairs neighbors who were concerned about noise during their baby's nap time. We also threw in a few extras to our list, like changing out our lighting, burying wires for cable, and painting a large space, and Aleks was able to work it all into the schedule. Our shower tile has a bevel so was a bit tricky to install and the tile guy put a lot of effort and experimenting to make sure the seams looked good.

Aleks was very easy to communicate with, to talk through all our issues at the planning stage, and then discuss how all the parts would come together. I would also especially single out his crew, who were unfailingly polite and respectful of our living in the space, and touched base with us to make sure all the elements looked the way we wanted as they were installed. For example, his tile guy laid out sample tile three different ways so I could choose which I liked best. We really love how everything turned out.
