Last Updated early '90s.
Scope of work
Keeping same foot print but replacing cabinets, backsplash, counter top, floor and appliances. May have to upgrade electrical.
Working with Nick and his crew was a pleasure. Construction is a hassle and stressful but they ensured that the process went smoothly. Nick was very response to any questions I had and kept me apprised of the work progress with pictures. Most important, he was always on time for appointments and kept the work on schedule. There were no delays. His men were professional, neat and quiet.
Noise is a huge problem in my building because of the way it was constructed. The facade is brick but it is basically a wood structure and noise carries between floors. Construction always leads to complaints from neighbors. But the crew were aware that noise was an issue and were extremely careful. Several of my neighbors remarked that they hardly knew there was any construction going on. They also remarked on how careful and neat the workers were in the public areas of the building.
Getting the work approved by the Co-Op board was very challenging. The building architect had a long checklist of items he wanted responses to before he would sign off on the project. Nick methodically responded to each item. He also personally met with the Managing Agent to explain the project and get her to expedite the approval process.
