Help Me, I'm A Crappy Kitchen!Posted by Sophia L. in Upper West Side
Closing on a coop on the UWS in the 90s, built in the 1960s. Was Original owner. Kitchen needs to be opened up and renovated. Planned start date (mid June).
Design and Build
Haven't decided yet
Original kitchen, built in the 60s. Needs to be opened up to allow more light into living room. crappy cabinetry, crappy countertop, crappy backsplash. you get the idea.
Scope of work
clean, classic. FUNCTIONAL. non-gaudy design. We have a 7 month old, so practical. would like good flow of the space allowing good light entry into living room and despite being an open kitchen, if there is still some way to make it seem cordoned off.
I chose them design build team based on the reviews and also their aesthetic. We communicated mostly with Paulina, who was extremely patient and professional.
Commitment to quality work, refusal to do anything subpar even when as the owners, that was not what we necessarily wanted to hear all the time ($$)! The workmanship of Albert and the rest of the team was excellent.
Great. They figured out many work-arounds for some of the peculiarities of our apartment including making us a custom frame so that we could utilize the PAX Ikea sliding doors and working with us so that we could salvage as much of the original apartment as posible to save on costs.
