Bathroom And Floors In Park SlopePosted by Katie H. in Park Slope
We are close to closing on our apartment and want to renovate the bathroom and refinish or redo the floors before we move in.
Design and Build
A little worn
Scope of work
New wall and shower tile
New sink and vanity
Replace medicine cabinet and lighting
Install floating shelves above toilet
New wall cabinet
New bathroom and shower fixtures
Possible new floor tile (need to look closer at existing)
Possible new toilet (need to look closer at existing)
Refinish or replace hard wood floors throughout the apartment. We noticed some leveling issues when we visited the open house but didn't examine closely. Would possibly like to explore more soundproofing if we needed to redo the floors.
We had a great experience working with Ilya and his crew. We had a tight time frame to do all our work before we moved in but they were able to meet it, even after a few surprises were discovered in demolition. Ilya was very communicative with any questions that arose during the process and was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had. Everything from his bids and invoices to his projected timeline was laid out clearly which we really appreciated given the quick turn around on the project. He was able to solve multiple problems that arose when we discovered the extent of how uneven and poorly laid our old floors were and generously spent more time and materials than anticipated trying to rectify it for us. He made great suggestions of materials and design details that we weren't considering- we would never have thought about red oak flooring had he not suggested it and are so happy we went with it as it suits our apartment perfectly! Any issues that arose, he was quick to correct or do over, even after we moved in and discovered a few things, which speaks to how much he cares about making sure the job is done right. Overall, we're very happy we went with Ilya and his team for our first home renovation project!
